SA bearings are locked by set screw on eccentric collar. SB bearings are locked with set screw on inner ring.
Insert bearings (SA bearings) are form changed deep groove ball bearing featured spherical outer diameter surface. It can be inserted into spherical concave of bearing housing for self-aligning effect. Though the basic performance similar to deep groove ball bearing, it is usually used in machinery with low requirements of mounting accuracy. For example, the axles of bearing and housing bores are misaligned or long through shaft with large deflection.
SA Bearings can be used with many Pillow Blocks, 2-Bolt Flanges, 3-Bolt Flanges, 4-Bolt Flanges, Take up units , etc. Saving money for replacing the insert bearing instead of replacing the whole unit.
It is sealed both sides to prevent dirt getting inside.Grease is filled during manfucture and no need to clean beforen installation or re-grease laster on. The bearing can undertake axial load less than 20% of dynamic load rating.
SA bearings are usually used with pressed steel housing and suitable for shafts with shoulder or where with limited installation space. These bearing are popular in countries like USA, UK, France, Germany, etc.
